Congratulations to Dr Anusha Kassan for securing a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Partnership Development Grant (PDG) in the latest round of competition!
For the past five years, Dr Kassan and her team has been working on research pertaining to Child Language Brokering (CLB), where newcomer parents/ guardians rely on their children/ the younger generation for linguistic translation and interpretation in different scenarios. Language Sciences is delighted to be part of the project by providing two seed grants in its early stages. Having gained momentum, the team went on to apply for an SSHRC Partnership Development Grant, and was successfully funded recently.
Language Sciences spoke to Dr Kassan of the challenging processes of the PDG application here . We hope you find the insight useful for your next PDG application!
Congratulations again to the team, and we look forward to seeing the research unravel!
